Site Start at Last - Day 1 - 29/10/08

Tuesday, 28th October - We heard news from our CSO that our land is booked for Earthworks on 29th October.

The day before that, we went to Simonds Gallery to change the color of the garage door. The Manager was so accomodating even if we didn't have an appointment to see her on that day. We were told that she has a meeting with a supplier but she was willing to see us after an hour. We came back after an hour and what was supposed to be just a change in colour to the garage became a major change. This is because when we first made the colour selections, we thought of having white floor tiles but later changed our minds and decided to have Forest Red Timber flooring instead. This made the house too "warm" in colour so she suggested to tone it down a bit. Changes were made to the colour of the cupboards, walls, kickboards, kitchen splashback, feature walls, etc. Once the change in colours was finalized, the manager even went to the extent of talking to the Manager in-charge of building to approve the changes. It seemed that the materials has already been ordered but the Manager was kind enough to allow the changes we made.

Anyway, back to site start. I went there yesterday, 29th October and to my surprise, I saw the heavy duty equipment parked at the side of the block and that earthworks have been done. This marks the official day of site start. Can't wait to see the other stages happen. Will post more pictures as more development takes place. :-)
